Isco renews his contract with Real Betis
The talented Spaniard will stay with Betis until June 2027, per club’s official announcement.
LA LIGA TRANSFER NEWS – BARCELONA, REAL MADRID AND MORE CLUBS LOOK TO BUY IN JANUARY
Isco has been Betis’ best player since his arrival in July 2023. The former Real Madrid has netted three goals and made four assists in 24 appearances for Real Betis.
Meanwhile, the club also signed Johnny Cardoso, who joined for roughly €8M and Internacional holds on to a future % of a possible transfer fee. Long overdue.
Carlos Soler is wanted by string of La Liga giants
Sevilla, Real Betis, and Villarreal are all keen on the former Valencia star, who has struggled for regular appearances since heading to the French capital in the summer of 2022.
The three La Liga clubs are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler for the second half of the 2023-24 season.
Foot Mercato (via GFFN) reported that PSG will not allow Soler to leave the club during the winter transfer window.
A deal may not be possible in January, but Soler could remain on clubs’ radars before next summer.
Atletico Madrid in search for new goalkeeper
Atletico Madrid has several players who are out of contract at the end of the season, including Ivo Grbic.
Grbic has been Jan Oblak’s understudy for three of the last four seasons (he spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Lille) and has only played a handful of matches during that time. As such, Marca says that Atleti expect him not to stay on as number two beyond the end of this season.
It means Atletico Madrid will likely need to sign a new goalkeeper next summer.
Barcelona could reunite with a big name in January 2024
According to Más Que Pelotas’ Adrián Sánchez, Barcelona have been offered the opportunity to sign Liverpool defensive midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
Undoubtedly, Thiago will be an immediate fit, who knows the club and fits the playing style. The Spaniard is well-known for being an elite reader of the game and one of the best metronomic passers in world football.
The problem is that this isn’t an ideal world. Thiago is 32 years old and has an extensive injury history, including in the 2023/24 season.
