According to the Spanish publication Diario Sport, Barcelona are looking to add Leão as an energy winger who could deliver in big games.

The Blaugrana continues to struggle this season, as they are 10 points behind league leader and rival Real Madrid.

To add salt to the wound, Xavi will be leaving Barca at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old hinted that this might be his last season with AC Milan after joining the club in 2019.

So far, Leão has tallied three goals and seven assists in 21 games across all competitions.

However, the Portuguese winger signed an extension deal with Milan last summer, which makes it hard for Barcelona to afford his services.

ESPN reported that he received interest from Paris Saint-Germain, but his return to the Ligue will be unlikely

Instead, he wants to try his luck in England or Spain.

Barcelona are also looking for cheaper options, including Everton’s Amadou Onana and Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane.
