La Liga filed a complaint claiming PSG and Man City breached FFP regulations
LaLiga has filed a complaint to UEFA over PSG and Man City “continuously breaching FFP regulations”.
La Liga chief Javier Tebas obviously is not happy with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spanish leader of La Liga decided to file a complaint, following Erling Haaland’s move to Man City and Kylian Mbappe’s staying at PSG.
Mbappe stayed at PSG and Man City got Haaland set on Tebas’ rage
Both players used to be heavily linked to Real Madrid.
However, in the end, Man City got their man by paying a 60m euro release clause plus add-ons. While Mbappe chose to extend his contract at PSG and earned around 100 m euros for a one-year salary.
But the results did not go down well with Tebas as he insisted that both Man City and PSG had done something that breached the Financial Fair Play Regulations, continuously.
La Liga even hired legal companies in France and Switzerland, only to declare war with the titan clubs.
The complaint in full, cited by the Spanish newspaper, Marca
“La Liga this week filed a complaint with UEFA against PSG, which will join another against Manchester City in April, for understanding that these clubs are continuously breaching the current financial fair play regulations.”
“La Liga considers that these practices alter the ecosystem and the sustainability of football, harm all European clubs and leagues, and only serve to artificially inflate the market, with money not generated in football itself.”
“La Liga understands that the irregular financing of these clubs is carried out, either through direct injections of money or through sponsorship and other contracts that do not correspond to market conditions or make economic sense.”
“The complaints against Manchester City before UEFA were made in April and this last week the one corresponding to PSG has been presented, although it is not ruled out that in the coming day’s extensions of some of these complaints will be made with the contributions of new data.”
“Additionally, La Liga has contracted law firms in France and Switzerland, including the French firm of lawyer Juan Branco, with the aim of undertaking administrative and judicial actions before the competent French bodies and before the European Union as soon as possible.”
UEFA responded
UEFA also wasn’t impressed with the complaints.
The European football body told La Liga that they would not be told what to do over the transfer or lack of transfer.
