Barcelona made a decision not to extend Luuk de Jong’s loan contract, nor sign him permanently. And now, Sevilla is negotiating with Mexican side Toluca in a permanent deal for the Dutch’s center-forward.

During his loan period at the Catalan side, De Jong scored 7 goals in all comps; and there was a time that the board seriously considered activating the option to buy him…

5. Valencia appointed Gattuso as the new head coach

Gennaro Gattuso officially became Valencia’s new manager. The signed deal would make him the Spanish head coach for the next 2 seasons, with a salary of 3m euros/season plus add-ons.

The Italian manager will look to reinforce Valencia with new strikers, among his options are Dries Mertens and Matias Vecino.
