1. Darwin Nunez officially joined Liverpool
Official and here we go confirmed!
Darwin Núñez officially joined Liverpool on a permanent deal from Benfica.
Benfica’s statement confirms the “deal now signed for €75m fee plus add-ons to reach €100m package”. Núñez will sign until 2028, medical today.
It seems like the Reds had a perfect replacement for Sadio Mane…
2. Chiellini joined the MLS side
It’s the end of an era for a Juventus legend and one of the longest servants. Giorgio Chiellini left the Italian club after 18 years and officially joined MLS’s side: LA FC.
3. Luka Modric signed a new contract with Real Madrid
The longevity of Luka Modric at Real Madrid continues, as he signed an extension contract. The Croatian midfielder will be staying at Los Blancos for another year, til 2023.
At the age of 36, Modric is still proving that he’s one the best in the world of football, with his heavy contributions to Real’s double victories last season.
4. Luuk de Jong may join Mexican side Toluca
Barcelona made a decision not to extend Luuk de Jong’s loan contract, nor sign him permanently. And now, Sevilla is negotiating with Mexican side Toluca in a permanent deal for the Dutch’s center-forward.
During his loan period at the Catalan side, De Jong scored 7 goals in all comps; and there was a time that the board seriously considered activating the option to buy him…
5. Valencia appointed Gattuso as the new head coach
Gennaro Gattuso officially became Valencia’s new manager. The signed deal would make him the Spanish head coach for the next 2 seasons, with a salary of 3m euros/season plus add-ons.
The Italian manager will look to reinforce Valencia with new strikers, among his options are Dries Mertens and Matias Vecino.
It would be interesting to see Carlo Ancelotti facing his former student at AC Milan in La Liga next season.
6. Barcelona’s huge chances to sign Chelsea’s pairs
Barcelona is only a few steps from sealing double signings from Chelsea. While having been waiting for Cesar Azpilicueta’s confirmation, Barca is reported to have reached an agreement with Marcos Alonso.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish full-back has confirmed to Chelsea his intention to leave, again this month.
7. Real Madrid announced Marcelo’s departure
The Madrid’s club officially announced Marcelo’s departure. The Brazilian legend will be leaving the club after 15 years, becoming the most decorated player in their history with 25 trophies.
A farewell ceremony will be held on the 13th of June for the left-back. What a legend! What a player!
