Jorge Mendes: “Barca plans to sign Cancelo, Felix permanently”

Superagent Jorge Mendes said that FC Barcelona intends to sign Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix permanently.

Mendes serves as a representative for the two Portuguese stars.

“Barcelona plans to sign both Cancelo and Felix permanently,” Mendes told Portuguese newspaper Record.

“They plan to continue with them beyond this summer.”

Both players arrived in Barca last summer, with Cancelo on loan from Manchester City and Felix also on loan from Atletico Madrid.

The 29-year-old Cancelo has been impressive in his 16 appearances in La Liga this season.

However, the same cannot be said for the 24-year-old Felix, who has fallen over in recent weeks.

Atletico Madrid is asking €80 million for Barca to own Felix, who lost his starting spot to Ferran Torres.

Despite receiving criticisms, Mendes insists that Felix “has performed quite well so far” this season.

“People are very happy with him, they can even see what he has done so far,” he said.

“There is no doubt that Joao Félix is a great player.”

Barcelona president Joan Laporta previously expressed interest in keeping Cancelo and Felix on permanent deals.
