Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid is far from done

Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid is far from over, as the saga now takes hit a block.

According to the Athletic, Mbappe’s entourage has yet to be convinced by Los Blancos‘ offer. The French talisman has not changed his mind or ambition to join the La Liga giants. However, his camp’s influential members cast doubts on the club’s offer.

Mbappe – Real Madrid saga continues

In the meantime, Mbappe has not officially communicated about his decision to stay or leave in the Summer to join Carlo Ancelotti’s side on a free transfer.

The Athletic reported that Madrid’s proposal is lower than what Mbappe receives at the Paris-based giants. While Florentino Perez pushes to finalize the deal, PSG feel relaxed about the situation.

Mbappe’s salary pack at PSG is reportedly over €75m after tax, and it does not include any bonus based on performance. Despite being rated as one of the wealthiest clubs right now, Real Madrid can not afford such mammoth figures.

According to sources, influential voices in Mbappe’s camp point out that Madrid’s offer is below what Mbappe earns at PSG or could earn from another potential suitor.

Two years ago, Mbappe was offered a €130million (£110m; $140m at current rates) signing bonus and a salary of €26m per year in 2022.

PSG feel protected economically by the fact the former Monaco super striker passed up the opportunity to collect a bonus that was due to him last Summer, to the value of at least €80 million.

If Mbappe leaves, the club insists it is committed to building a balanced project that does not depend on individuals as they have been and failed with Neymar, Mbappe, and Lionel Messi.

With the Frenchman’s PSG contract set to expire after June 30, they have been free to discuss terms as he is into the final six months of his deal in France.

Mbappe has scored 30 goals in 29 PSG appearances this season and has still been a key player for PSG as they aim at another effort for the UEFA Champions League.
