Bellingham shined to secure top spot in La Liga

After three games being silent, the wonder boy from British Bellingham was the main string to pull a thrashing win over league leaders Girona.

The England midfielder scored one and provided a Modric-esque assist, aka the ‘holy trivela’ as Los Blancos secured the top spot, once again.

Girona almost stunned Madrid early as Yangel Herrera and Viktor Tsygankov missed clear headers within the first five minutes. Carlo Ancelotti’s side also struggled to break the deadlock.

However, Bellingham was the difference. He provided a trivela pass that Joselu could not miss to score at close range. A second came when Aurelien Tchouameni headed home his first goal for the royal club.

Madrid should have put the game away at the other end, but Bellingham fluffed his lines under pressure.

He made no mistake at the second time of asking, latching onto a rebound and finding the bottom corner to seal yet another win in his burgeoning Madrid career. Meanwhile, the match ended in controversy as Madrid captain Nacho was sent off for a horrendous challenge in stoppage time.

Raphina was injured in Barca’s win at Sevilla

Sergio Ramos had a nightmare when the former Madrid captain scored an own goal to gift the Catalans three points. It’s a night to forget for the Spanish, as this was his first appearance since returning to the Seville club.

However, Barca could not thoroughly celebrate the win since winger Raphinha was forced to leave the pitch in the 37th minute for injury.

According to Barca, Raphinha had a hamstring injury and could miss some vital games ahead for his side.

Barcelona have issued an update on Brazilian winger Raphinha’s injury following the win against Sevilla on Friday.

The champions have now opened a two-point gap on Los Blancos in third, with Girona occupying second place, just one point behind the leaders.

Takefusa Kubo pulls out the fake injury and twerks celebration like Kansas City stars Lo’Eau LaBonta and Travis Kelce

Kubo found the back of the net for the Liga side and celebrated by mimicking the famous fake hamstring-pull twerk celebration used by LaBonta and Kelce in their respective American leagues.

The celebration has gone viral since LaBonta debuted it in an NWSL match for the KC Current, and it’s recently been used by NFL star Travis Kelce – the rumored partner of superstar singer Taylor Swift.
