La Liga week 20 recap: Levante net first league win of season
Levante UD finally got out of the hump, beating Mallorca, 2-0, for their first La Liga victory this season.
Roberto Soldado scored two minutes after halftime to the delight of the Estadi Ciutat de València crowd. José Luis Morales put another in deep into stoppage time for good measure.
José Campaña getting sent off was the only damper in what was a lucky afternoon for the Granotes, as Mallorca had two clear chances to score that were both denied.
Meanwhile, Valencia stumble to tenth on the table after losing to league leader Real Madrid, 1-4.
Karim Benzema and Vini Jr teamed up to score two goals each for the victors.
Gonçalo Guedes made the consolation score for Valencia.
Finally, Elche defeated Espanyol, 2-1, to jump out of the relegation zone.
Pere Milla completed a brace within 14 minutes from the opening whistle to set the tone.
Raúl de Tomás converted a penalty, as all goals were scored on the first half.
