La Liga Week 28 Recap : Rayo Vallecano 1-1 Sevilla: Points shared as title race gets tougher for Sevilla
It was an unlucky day for Sevilla at Vallecas, as the visitor shared points with Rayo Vallecano.
Delaney’s equalizer canceled Bebe’s stunning strike, all in the second half of the weekend game, MD 28 of La Liga.
Vallecano’s man beat Augustinsson on the right-hand side and struck a powerful effort from just inside the box, on the wing, to beat Bono at the near post. But Delaney made no mistake in putting the ball in the back of the net, after Tecatito’s assist, in the 65th minute.
VAR, not once but twice, disappointed Rafa Mir, as the Sevilla’s man ruled out one goal and one penalty appeal.
The Spanish centre-forward scored from the corner, only 10 minutes after the kick-off. But it was ruled out due to a handball by Mir, while the penalty in the second half was overturned, also by VAR.
The home team had to thank their keeper Dimitrievski, as the 28-year-old made crucial saves from Anthony Martial and Delaney in stoppage time.
Sevilla now has 56 points with 10 matches remaining, and are still second in the table. But the gap between Sevilla and top-spot Real Madrid only gets wider.
Barcelona 4-0 Osasuna: The statement before El Clasico
No drama, no struggling, only an explosive display by Ferran Torres and Ousmane Dembele as Barcelona beat Osasuna 4-0 at Camp Nou on Match Day 28.
Barcelona only needed less than 15 minutes to unlock the game. Osasuna right back Nacho Vidal brought down Gavi in the box and Ferran Torres expertly slotted the penalty kick.
5 minutes later, it’s Torres with a sublime finish to double the advantage, but thanks to Dembele who assisted brilliantly with a through ball.
When Dembele is good, he is crazily good. The French forward with his 2nd assist only in 6 minutes, set up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal to make it 3-0.
Riqui Puig ended the game in 75th minute with a fine solo act. This was Puig’s first appearance in quite a long time for Barcelona, and he impressed in no time when subbed in.
Xavi’s team released a strong statement before El Clasico, as Barca is facing Real Madrid next. Meanwhile, the top 4 position is solid for the Catalan club with the undefeated now rises to 12 games.
