Real Betis youngster Garreta gives update on head injury

Real Betis youngster Felix Marti Garreta gave an encouraging update after sustaining a serious head injury.

The 20-year-old was brought into the intensive care unit following a freak accident at his home.

According to SD Amorebieta, the club the played for on loan this season, Garreta left the ICU and he “continues to evolve favorably.”

“The Amorebieta Sports Society reports that the footballer Félix Martí Garreta has left the ICU and has been transferred to the ward. The player continues to evolve favorably.”

Garreta thanks his fans

The defender himself thanked his fans for their support and concern.

“Today I want to address all of you to express my most sincere gratitude for the messages and expressions of affection that I have received during these last few weeks,” Garreta wrote on X. “Your support has been fundamental and has given me immense strength to continue fighting.”

The former Spain under-19 player also provided an encouraging update about his condition.

“I am happy to inform you that I am in good condition,” he wrote. “Although now a long recovery process begins. As you can imagine I am looking forward to see you again and share unforgettable moments in football. Thanks for everything.”

So far, Garreta has four goals in 31 league appearances for Amorebieta.

He also has seven caps for Spain’s U19 side.
