The German star was booed in Saudi when Madrid won the Spanish Super Cup tournament in January.

Koor addressed the incident ahead of their Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.

“For me, it was a confirmation that I said everything right in the interviews,” he said.

To recall, Kroos first Sports Illustrated last summer of 2023 that the human rights situation in the country was “the one thing that would stop me from making such a change”.

Kroos believes that the surge of players moving to the Middle East was ruining football.

“People say they play ambitious football there, but it’s all about the money.”

“It’s a decision for the money and against football, and from there, things start to get difficult for the football we know and love.”

Kroos’ former teammates Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo were among the high-profile players who took their talents to Saudi.

Elsewhere, the midfielder addressed the speculations about his expiring contract with Madrid.

“I still don’t know what to do. I haven’t decided anything yet,” he said.

“I’m very happy that people want me to play one more year, that’s a positive sign.”

Kroos also talked about the possibility of him returning to the German side for Euro 2024, which will take place on home soil.

“All I can say is that I haven’t made a decision yet,” he said.

“It depends on many things, how I feel, how the season goes, and the plans that I have.”
