La Liga week 27 preview: Deportivo Alavés vs Sevilla 

Relegation-threatened Alavés play host to second place Sevilla FC on March 5 at the Mendizorrotza in a meeting that features two clubs having contrasting fortunes this 2021-22 season of La Liga. 

Overview 

The two sides earlier met on November 20, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Deportivo Alavés’ most recent match was also a 2-2 stalemate against Getafe. The last time they were at home, they emerged victorious against Valencia, 2-1. 

Sevilla, on the other hand, had a tight schedule in February that also included fixtures at the Europa League, where they eliminated Dinamo Zagreb, 3-2 in aggregate. They beat Real Betis, 2-1, on week 26 of La Liga.

The Babazorros’ form is all over the place. Their prior five encounters have been a mixture of wins, losses, and a draw (2-2-1). 

It has been a while since they tasted triumph, a 3-0 trouncing of Unami on the first round of the Copa del Rey on December 1. As for a La Liga victory, it goes way back to November 7.
