Barcelona to wear Rolling Stones logo on El Clasico shirts

Barcelona will gear up with the famous Rolling Stones logo on their home kits when they face Real Madrid in La Liga 2023/24 first El Clasico on October 28.

The Catalan giants officially announced that the emblem will replace current kit sponsor Spotify for the coming anticipated El Clasico.

There is no better and more significant event to debut (or one-time use) a particular kit. The recent clashes between Barca and rivals Madrid have witnessed multiple epic kits, like Real Madrid with the Y-3, or logos of both Drake and Rosalia taking pride of place during the two La Liga meetings last season.

This time, British rock legends The Rolling Stones will feature on the shirt, with the famous Tongue and Lips logo replacing the Spotify sponsorship.

The agreement marks the release of the band’s new album Hackney Diamonds, which is due to be released on October 20. It has been 18 years since The Rolling Stones last released an album, which makes this special appearance more significant.

In addition to the Clasico shirt, the Rolling Stones logo will feature on the front of the women’s shirt for the Liga F game against Sevilla a week later.

Almost 2,000 shirts will be available for fans to buy, while Barcelona will also sell 22 shirts signed by each player to start the two games in which the shirt will be worn.

A new lifestyle collection, including t-shirts, bucket hats, and hoodies, will go on sale on October 23.

The Rolling Stones will also release their exclusive merchandise, with a limited edition Barcelona printing of their new vinyl album available alongside a Barca retro jersey.

“Yet again our collaboration with Spotify has taken things to the next level,” said Barcelona marketing area vice-president Juli Guiu.

“Bringing together two icons – The Rolling Stones logo and the Barça jersey – is a special moment for our fans worldwide. Music and football form a special partnership with a long future ahead of them and we are happy to add another chapter to the story alongside Spotify.”
