Real Madrid extends Vazquez
The extension came just 24 hours after re-signing veteran midfielder Luka Modric to a one-year deal, as well.
Both Vazquez and Modric will join the team’s preparation for the season on Monday headed by manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Florentino Perez was present during the signing at the Valdebebas Sports City offices.
“Real Madrid C. F. and Lucas Vázquez have agreed an extension to the player’s contract, tying him to the club until 30 June 2025,” the LaLiga champions said in a statement.
Madridista since 2007
Vazquez, 33, joined Real Madrid in 2007 at 16 years old and played in all the youth categories.
In his nine seasons wearing the Madrid jersey, he has won 21 titles: five Champions Leagues, four Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, four La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and four Spanish Super Cups.
The winger has played a total 349 matches for Real Madrid, scoring 36 goals.
He has also played nine matches for the Spanish national team.
