Cubarsi, two other youngsters get Barcelona renewal offers

Barcelona is committed to investing in its future after the club sent renewal offers to three youngsters, led by center-back Pau Cubarsi.

LONG-TERM FUTURE AWAITS CUBARSI AT BARCELONA

Cubarsi is eyed to be part of Barcelona’s plans. The 17-year-old Spaniard started in six of the La Liga outfit’s last seven matches as an effective center-back.

Barcelona is aware of increasing interest by European clubs over Cubarsi, whose contract ends in 2026.

However, negotiations to lock up the young Spaniard to a long-term deal by Barcelona might take several months, according to journalist Toni Juanmarti of Sport.

GUIU, FOTY ALSO EYED FOR EXTENSION DEALS

Barca is also looking to lock up Marc Guiu and Hector Fort to new deals and keep them off the market. The duo have also made breakthroughs for the club this season.

The 18-year-old Guiu has logged two goals in six overall appearances for Barca this season. Barcelona youth coach Ivan Carrasco described the 6-foot-2 Spaniard as a “specialist in the area who exploits his physical power.

Fort, like Cubarsi and Guiu, is also a product of La Masia youth academy. The 17-year-old Barcelona native’s contract, like Guiu’s, runs until the summer of 2025.
