“It’s intolerable and unacceptable”

Madrid sent a complaint of letter following their 1-0 defeat by Espanyol on Saturday.

The Spanish giants complained that the referee did not issue a red card to Espanyol defender Carlos Romero for fouling Kylian Mbappe.

LaLiga president Javier Tebas has spoken out against Real Madrid’s complaints, saying that the club has “lost its mind.”

Speaking to DAZN, Del Nido Carrasco also expressed his dissent over Madrid’s pressure on the referees.

“We have to differentiate two things. Being able to modify the refereeing system and some aspects of refereeing, and Real Madrid’s statement,” he said.

“It’s intolerable and unacceptable. It brings into question the honour of referees and the competition. The world of football should denounce, publicly and in the courts, a statement which goes against football’s integrity.”

Madrid “trying to destroy Spanish football”

Real Madrid has frequently slammed refereeing decisions through its club TV channel.

Del Nido Carrasco said that the Spanish club is “trying to destroy Spanish football” with its criticism of officials.

“The worst of all is that Real Madrid are trying to destroy Spanish football, with Real Madrid TV, and in various other ways,” Del Nido Carrasco said.

“We can’t tolerate that a club like Real Madrid try to destroy us … First of all, we give our unconditional support to referees. We won’t tolerate that their honour is being questioned. [Madrid] want to put pressure on them, so that they don’t make decisions freely.”
