Laliga Standings Before Matchday 12

After Matchday 11, Barcelona lead with 30 points, Atlético Madrid follow on 28 and Real Madrid sit third with 27. Sunday’s Atlético–Barcelona meeting could therefore change the league lead, while Madrid have the chance to apply pressure when they play Valencia a day earlier.

Position Club Played Points
1 Barcelona 11 30
2 Atlético Madrid 11 28
3 Real Madrid 11 27
4 Real Betis 11 23
5 Real Sociedad 11 19

Figures checked November 4, 2026. Atlético have conceded eight goals in eleven league games, compared with Barcelona’s league-leading 46 goals scored. Málaga remain bottom with five points and no wins in eleven matches. Check the full Laliga standings for every team and later movements.

Five Games to Watch in Laliga Matchday 12

1. Atlético Madrid vs Barcelona — First Against Second

Sunday, November 8 · 21:00 CET · Monday, November 9, 04:00 GMT+8 · Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

This is the round’s clearest title-race fixture: Barcelona have 30 points; Atlético have 28. An Atlético victory would take the hosts above Barcelona in the standings. Barcelona arrive after a 6–1 win over Alavés, while Atlético defeated Levante 2–0 in the same round.

The contest puts Barcelona’s high-output attack against a defensive unit that has allowed only eight goals in eleven league games. Key question: can Atlético limit the space for Barcelona’s forwards while posing enough threat at the other end? This is a pre-match tactical storyline, not a confirmed lineup or score prediction.

2. Valencia vs Real Madrid — Can Madrid Keep Up the Pressure?

Saturday, November 7 · 21:00 CET · Sunday, November 8, 04:00 GMT+8 · Mestalla.

Real Madrid enter the round third on 27 points after their 3–0 away win against Racing Santander. Valencia are 19th with nine points, although they did secure a 1–0 victory at Elche in Matchday 11.

Madrid can reach 30 points by winning at Mestalla, before Barcelona and Atlético meet on Sunday. Valencia’s immediate task is to turn their latest win into a stronger run, especially against a visiting side chasing the leaders.

3. Osasuna vs Athletic Club — A Response Needed in Pamplona

Saturday, November 7 · 18:30 CET · Sunday, November 8, 01:30 GMT+8 · El Sadar.

Osasuna gave up a lead in their 2–1 defeat at Deportivo, conceding the winner in the 87th minute. Athletic, meanwhile, edged Real Sociedad 2–1 in the Basque derby. Athletic have played only ten completed league games because their October fixture with Rayo Vallecano was abandoned; that unfinished match must not be counted as a result.

What to watch: whether Osasuna respond defensively and whether Athletic can build on their derby victory.

4. Málaga vs Racing Santander — Bottom-of-the-Table Stakes

Saturday, November 7 · 14:00 CET · Saturday, November 7, 21:00 GMT+8 · La Rosaleda.

Málaga have yet to win a league match this season: five draws and six defeats from their first eleven games, with just five points. They lost 2–1 at Betis in Matchday 11. Racing enter after a 3–0 home defeat to Real Madrid and have eleven points from eleven games.

This meeting offers Málaga another chance to end their winless start and Racing an opportunity to move away from the lower places. For earlier Málaga form, read our Málaga–Espanyol result.

5. Sevilla vs Deportivo Alavés — Friday’s Opening Test

Friday, November 6 · 21:00 CET · Saturday, November 7, 04:00 GMT+8 · Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

Sevilla start Matchday 12 in sixth on 17 points after losing 3–1 to Getafe. Alavés are eleventh with 12 points and must respond to a heavy 6–1 defeat at Barcelona. Friday’s opener offers both teams a chance to reset before the rest of the weekend’s games.

What Could Change After Matchday 12?

Barcelona’s two-point lead over Atlético is directly at stake in Sunday’s head-to-head. Real Madrid can reach 30 points with a victory against Valencia on Saturday, though the order of the top three after the weekend will also depend on the Atlético–Barcelona result. Below them, Betis seek to protect fourth place at Elche, while Málaga chase their first win.

The most recent completed round ended with Deportivo 2–1 Osasuna on November 2. For final scores as Matchday 12 begins, use our latest Laliga results page.
